Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is an educational program designed for children who are too old for preschool but not yet eligible for kindergarten. This program serves as a bridge, providing a nurturing and structured environment where children can develop essential academic and social-emotional skills at a comfortable pace. TK focuses on early literacy, math, and hands-on learning, helping children build a strong foundation for future success. With smaller class sizes and dedicated, supportive teachers, the program ensures a smooth and confident transition to kindergarten, while meeting the unique needs of young learners who are in that critical developmental stage.

EARLY ACADEMIC SKILLS: Focuses on pre-literacy and numeracy skills. Headstart on foundational skills.

SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT: TK emphasizes social skills, helping children learn to interact with peers, share and follow classroom rules.

INCREASED CONFIDENCE: Success in a less formal setting boosts children’s confidence, positively impacting their attitude towards learning.

DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION: TK allows for personalized instruction to address the unique needs of each child, promoting a more tailored learning experience.

SUPPORT FOR YOUNG LEARNERS: TK recognizes the developmental needs of younger learners, providing a play-based and age-appropriate curriculum.

SMOOTH TRANSITION TO KINDERGARTEN: Eases the transition to kindergarten by familiarizing children with the expectations and structure of a classroom environment.

PREPARATION FOR FORMAL EDUCATION: TK serves as a steppingstone to formal education, introducing routines and classroom expectations.
