Early Childhood Education

Mount Hope’s Preschool program was specially created for children from 2.9 years to those entering kindergarten. Our high- quality preschool program allows children to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically, spiritually, and individually. Each unit and activity in our program promote growth in these areas. Since our program is based on the development of the whole child, we expose the children to various themes and activities to ensure development.

Our preschool program aims to empower and support students in achieving academic excellence as they quest for God’s highest and best plan for their life. During their time at Mount Hope Christian School, we will identify their academic and behavioral needs, implement plans for active change and assistance where possible, and support our students’ parents by serving as educational advocates for their children. We offer the students at Mount Hope Christian School endless possibilities for learning and growth from one-on-one education to small-group education. We Believe That Literacy Is The Foundation

At Mount Hope, we believe literacy is the cornerstone of a child’s education. To thoroughly prepare our preschoolers for future academic success, we use the Little Treasure reading curriculum along with Lively Letters, both published by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill. These innovative programs provide foundational reading and comprehension skills in a developmentally-appropriate, research-based format. Specifically designed for 3- and 4-year-olds, our Pre-K curriculum sets the stage for the academic and social demands of kindergarten. To ensure ongoing progress, we also utilize Universal Test Tools like PELI (Preschool Early Literacy Indicator) to track student development throughout the year.

Preschool Curriculum

Are you familiar with the book We Are All Alike—We Are All Different? It is a classroom favorite of mine, and I believe it speaks for the teachers here at Mount Hope Christian School.

We are “all alike” in our commitment to excellence in teaching and loving your child. We are “all different” in our style and presentation of these two components.

Within the parameters of our curriculum, the teachers enjoy creative freedom, and this makes Mount Hope unique.
