A Typical Day at Kindergarten Program

8:30 AM - 8:45 AM

Interactive Free Play

During this time, children play with several different toys and participate in several different activities, all chosen by their teacher to progress specific skills.

8:45 AM - 9:30 AM

Circle Time

This designated time will include a pledge to the flag, opening prayer accompanied by memory verse and group devotions, the practice of the calendar and counting charts, and an introduction to the day’s theme.

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM

Snack & Reading Time

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

English Language Arts

Students will learn phonics, rhyming, cause and effect, sequencing of stories, story comprehension, and how to follow directions. Students will also learn letter recognition, capital and lower-case letters, letter sounds, picture match with letter sounds, sound recognition of letters, the formation of letters, poems and songs, and the alphabet train for sound sequence.

Special

With various Special Centers, our students get to participate in extracurricular subjects throughout the week. Our specials include gym, music, art and Wednesday chapel.

Math

During this time of the day, we use math manipulatives to teach the following concepts: shapes, patterning, number recognition, number of sequencing, the concept of numbers, place value, graphing, sorting, problem-solving, measuring, time, money, addition, and subtraction.

Kindergarten Curriculum
