A Typical Day at Mount Hope Preschool!

8:30–8:45        Arrival and Free Play

(an impor­tant time for the child to tran­si­tion from home to school)

8:45–9:15         Social and Inter­ac­tive Play

Explor­ing Cen­ters for cre­ative play, social devel­op­ment, hands-on activ­i­ties, dra­mat­ic play (role-play­ing)

Games and manip­u­la­tives for fine motor, pre-read­ing skills and match­ing, sort­ing, clas­si­fy­ing skills.

9:15–11:45       Class-time Activites (time and order varies per class­room)

Cir­cle Time — Chil­dren learn prob­lem solv­ing skills, strength­en lan­guage devel­op­ment through vocab­u­lary, lis­ten­ing and speak­ing, sto­ry­telling, rhyming and rhythm

Recess — Snack — Restroom

Instruc­tion­al Time — music, crafts, jour­nals, hands-on activ­i­ties, strength­en fol­low­ing direc­tions

Week­ly Chapel along with Bible sto­ries

11:45               Dis­missal for half-day stu­dents

12:00               Recess for full-day stu­dents

12:10                Lunch

12:45 to           Class-time Activ­i­ties
