SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK - September 2009

Dr. Pam Brady, from Coastlands Consultants, led the daily chapels during Spiritual Emphasis Week, September 14-18.  Dr. Brady and her assistants, Mr. Blanchard and Mr. Wells, also spent time with the students in their classrooms emphasising the main points of the week's theme.  This week was truly a blessing for the students and staff.

The theme for the preschool classes was S.T.O.R.Y.  Jesus taught in stories called parables:
S = Start.  Our faith starts with Jesus.  Parable of the wise and foolish builders.
T = Treasure.  Jesus is a gift that we need to share.  Parabale of hidden treasure and great pearl.
O = Out.  Jesus will go out and find us.  Parable of the lost sheep.
R = Return.  We can always return to Jesus, no matter what we do.  Parable of the prodigal Son.
Y = Yes!  Yes, we will help our friends.  Parable of the Good Samaritan.

The theme for the elementary classes was S.H.O.E.S., text Isaiah 52:7, How lovely on the mountains are the feet of them who bring good news!):
S = Saved.  A shoe was used to demonstrate how a "sole" is saved.
H = Healing.  Various foot-healing items were used to show how the Lord heals our soul.
O = Obedience.  Object lessons demonstrated the importance of obedience.
E = Endurance.  Object lesson demonstrated the importance of running your race to win.
S = Sanctification.  Different shoes were set apart for different purposes.
