PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

What is our mission?
Our students are being transformed daily into the image of Christ through the combined efforts of both the home and school.  We offer excellent academic programs that focus on educating the whole child.  We feel that children should be developing in the following five areas:  academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and, most importantly, spiritually.  Our belief is that each child develops and learns at his/her own pace.  Children also have very unique gifts.  It is our responsibility as educators to identify and encourage these areas in your child.  We strongly believe in the creative arts and will do our best to educate your children in these areas as well.

What types of programs are available?
In many of our younger classrooms, a thematic approach to education is used.  The children learn all of the core academics through themes; i.e., Pilgrims.  As education has proven in the last two decades, children do learn best by doing, using a hands-on creative interactive aproach.  They also learn best when they can relate new information to their own knowledge base.
We use many approaches to learning.  We have learned that because all students are different, their learning styles are different.  Most students need a combination of modalities.  A combination of many techniques will reach the greatest audience of learners.

We use a Biblical model.
We feel that our philosophy is in keeping with how Jesus teaches us.  None of us are in the same place at the same time in our walk or education with Him.  The Lord uses a unique approach to educating each of us.  He also uses many methods to educate us, such as the Word of God, our everyday experiences, and our relationships within the body of Christ.  Our Father treats us as unique and very special individuals.
With that philosophy in mind, would it be fair to offer our students any less than a personalized program to meet each individual child's needs?

What makes us unique?
We educate the whole child.  The areas that we address are academic, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical.
We tailor programs to meet the children's different learning styles.  We assess their working levels on a continuous basis.  Children learn at their own rate of speed.
We provide small classrooms, assuring low pupil-teacher ratios.  Assistant teachers are assigned to the preschool, kindergarten and grade 1 classrooms as needed.
We provide and assist with Pupil Services (individual tutoring, special needs, and enrichment) for all students.
We equip the classrooms with state-of-the-art computers and programs to enhance their learning experience.
We offer an extended care program before and after school to assist our parents.
We offer after-school creative arts and sports programs for a well-rounded education.
We provide a strong academic base so that our students are able to graduate and move on to institutions of higher learning.
Most importantly, we provide a strong Biblical foundation in order that our students may be equipped for real-life skills.
